Rochelle Bucher's First Full-Length Album Convince Me to be Released May 15 — Listeners need no convincing after hearing this introspective, heartfelt album
May 1st, 2007
Indianapolis - Rochelle Bucher, an Indianapolis-based singer, songwriter and musician, will release her first full-length album, Convince Me, on May 15. Rochelle, who has a heart for sharing and helping others, hopes to use this album to reach out to those who have been wounded in the past. Convince Me is a follow-up to her 2003 self-titled EP.
With her EP in hand, Rochelle became a regular at venues in the Indianapolis area. Originally meant to be a sampling of her songs to secure gigs, the EP garnered local attention and secured opportunities for her to play festivals, benefits and sing on another artist's upcoming album.
Rochelle uses her years as a singer, composer and musician to tell stories of love, heartache and the road in between. The intensity and sincerity with which she sings about these universal human emotions makes it impossible for listeners not to be moved. The Rushville (IN) Republican's "Full-Circle Radio Hour" raved, "Bucher is a must-see artist. The freshness in her songs is well received in the often-overproduced world of music these days."
Rochelle has her own unique sound, yet many say her music is reminiscent of Alison Krauss, Sarah McLachlan and Patty Griffin. And just like these artists, Rochelle's songs leave you intensely moved and wanting for more. The album's title track, "Convince Me," evokes a deep sense of longing for a relationship found then lost. Track two, "My Own Two Feet," then bursts forth with confidence, encouraging listeners to persevere and be their own person. In "Love Me the Right Way," Rochelle hopes to inspire people to let love be what it is...something given freely to others in good times and bad. During "You Are So Good To Me," Rochelle pokes fun at herself and sings of how she can be difficult and stubborn, yet thankful that her husband loves her in spite of and for her eccentricities. As in most of Rochelle's songs, the album's remaining tracks encourage listeners to persever through struggles and find inner peace.
Rochelle's work has received kudos from industry professionals who indicate "the vocals on 'Convince Me' are stellar. You have a gift." And, "Rochelle's songs have a simple structure, but also a consistency that most industry people want to hear. She's focused and isn"t searching for a 'style' or a 'flavor-of-the-month' sound."
Rochelle has played in large venues (including the Indy 500 and Brickyard festivals) as well as intimate coffeehouses; for charitable causes and celebrations; and has done work for several popular Indianapolis-area radio stations. Rochelle is available for on-air interviews by contacting Rochelle at info@rochellebucher.com.
Convince Me was recorded at Dark Horse Studios in Nashville, TN and was co-produced with Nashville singer/songwriter Dan Adams. The album was mixed at Tombstone Recording by Tom Harding, who has lent his expertise to such artists as Deanna Carter, ZZ Top and SHeDAISY. The album was mastered at New York City's Sterling Studios by Will Quinnell, who has also worked with Jewel, Nelly Furtado and Ashley Tisdale.
