There are times in life when our feelings are so raw, when emotion runs so deep, that we're overwhelmed by their magnitude. When such unspeakable heartache and immeasurable joy consumed musician/singer/songwriter Rochelle Bucher, she recorded her emotions for all to hear in her first full-length album,
Convince Me.
As the newly released follow-up to her 2003 self-titled vocal/acoustic guitar EP, Convince Me displays the musical prowess of a woman whose quiet spirit belies the strength of her vocals and the wisdom of her lyrics. Rochelle has always felt strongly about "Convince Me" being the title track, not only because it's a commercially strong ballad, but because it embodies the message of so many of the other songs on the album: "Convince Me" that I can stand on "My Own Two Feet" (track two), that you'll "Love Me the Right Way" (track seven), that I'm "Over You" (track nine). And this musical treasure trove overflows with seven additional passionate, empowering tracks.
Convince Me was recorded at Dark Horse Studios in Nashville and was co-produced with Nashville singer/songwriter Dan Adams. The album was mixed at Tombstone Recording by Tom Harding, who has lent his expertise to such artists as Deanna Carter, ZZ Top and SHeDAISY. The album was mastered at New York City's Sterling Studios by Will Quinnell, who has worked with Jewel, Nelly Furtado and Amy Winehouse.
Rochelle has already received kudos from industry professionals who indicate "the vocals on 'Convince Me' are stellar. You have a gift." And, "Rochelle's songs have a simple structure, but also a consistency that most industry people want to hear. She's focused and isn't searching for a 'style' or a 'flavor-of-the-month' sound."
While Rochelle has her own unique sound, many will tell you that her music is reminiscent of Alison Krauss, Sarah McLachlan and Patty Griffin. And just like these artists, Rochelle's songs leave you intensely moved and wanting for more.
Rochelle has played in large venues (including the Indy 500 and Brickyard festivals) as well as intimate coffeehouses; for charitable causes and celebrations; and has done work for and received airplay on several popular Indianapolis-area radio stations such as WZPL, WKWH, & WTTS.
"Those who crave songs with meaning and depth will love this album," says Rochelle, who co-wrote "Over You" and composed the remaining songs on the album. "It's for the thinkers - those people who really enjoy delving into lyrics and trying to figure out what the artist is trying to get across. And it's also for those who really enjoy listening to good music. Even though this album could be described as extremely introspective, there are also some lighter, upbeat songs that just make you want to dance."

The Press Is Saying...
"Rochelle has great talent and she should be proud of her accomplishments in her songwriting and in recording commercial, heartfelt songs on the 'Convince Me' CD. She sure convinced me!"
— Annie Russell, WKWH Radio 94.3 FM
— Kelly McKay, Z99.5 Indianapolis
Others Are Saying...
"I actually heard your song "Convice Me" on Kelly McKay's Homegrown Buzz sunday night and the song made me cry. I just really related to the song, and I didn't hear it from the very beginning so I had NO idea you were FROM Indiana. I love music and I love to sing and it gave me hope that I didn't have to LIVE in Nashville or L.A. to make anything happen. I heard snippets of the cd on the site and knew I had to buy it and thought it would be cool to have it autographed because I know you're going places. I am SUCH a fan already."
